David Rendall is an award-winning Toronto-born artist and filmmaker living in Picton, Prince Edward County. His work includes the hybrid documentary - Today Is A Gift (2026), 

the social realist short - Triage (2024) and the animation - Michael (2019). 

 

David has participated in several film labs including the inaugural Kingston Canadian Film Festival's Doc Lab, the Animating Artists' Health program through TAIS, and the CFC's Norman Jewison Film Program for Directors. 

 

'Triage' has screened in over 3 dozen festivals internationally including Ottawa Canadian Film Festival where it won audience favourite and Hudson Animation and Short Film Festival (HASFF) where it won Best Live Action short and Best film. It will be premiering online through Shortverse.

 

'Today Is A Gift' had its world premiere at Kingston Canadian Film Festival and has screened at Toronto Jewish Film Festival, The Toronto Holocaust Museum & Rhodope Documentary Film Fest in Bulgaria.  It is 

being distributed by the CFMDC.

'Michael' had its world premiere at Rendez-Vous With Madness Film Festival and also screened at OCADU.
